Job description
About Go1
Go1 exists to help organizations make learning and development more timely, relevant, and effective. The company has grown from a small startup into a global brand by tackling difficult problems, adapting to uncertainty, and continually pushing forward.
Go1 is a place for people who enjoy change, complex challenges, and fast growth alongside ambitious teammates. The company values autonomy balanced with accountability, room to experiment, and the chance to build products that influence millions of learners worldwide. The environment is intentionally open-ended so teams can discover the best solutions together.
Role overview
Go1 is hiring a Product Manager to lead search and recommendations, the systems that decide whether the right learning reaches the right learner at the right moment. Today, relevance work largely falls on learning and development administrators, who must manually search, scroll, and curate because the platform cannot always confidently match content to context. This role is meant to change that by making discovery and personalization significantly smarter so the product does the heavy lifting.
What Go1 is building
Go1 brings together high-quality learning content and makes it easy for teams to find, manage, and deliver learning across their organizations. Customers rely on the platform for personalized employee growth, compliance learning, and keeping skills current. As AI changes how content is discovered, the advantage is shifting from having more courses to knowing which learning is needed at the exact right time. Discovery, personalization, and intelligence are central to that shift, and this role sits at the core of it.
Key focus areas
- Improve search relevance and ranking by running fast experiments, tracking the impact, and iterating quickly.
- Develop recommendation systems for learners and administrators so results become more tailored than simple enrollment-based suggestions.
- Build preference and behavioural models that support stronger personalization.
- Enhance discovery experiences across standalone products, embedded experiences, and API-driven surfaces.
- Design AI-assisted discovery flows that reduce the manual curation workload for administrators.
- Ensure search performance and quality carry through partner integrations and API-based use cases.
What the work involves
This is not a visual polish role. The position sits at the intersection of product and data science, with a strong focus on experimentation, ranking logic, feedback loops, and measurable improvements to relevance. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with embedding models, semantic search, and recommendation algorithms—not as the engineer implementing them, but as the product leader who understands why one approach outperforms another and can make informed trade-offs.
The team is looking for someone who is genuinely excited by retrieval strategies, reranking experiments, and ways to build personalization from sparse signals. Passion for the space matters here.
About you
- You are in the earlier part of your product management career but already have a track record of both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
- You are highly interested in search and discovery systems, including embedding models, semantic search, ranking methods, and recommendation engines.
- You use data thoughtfully: you understand strong measurement, but you do not wait for perfect tracking before launching. You can move with imperfect data, explain what is being measured, and speak honestly about what is or is not working.
- You bring strong execution energy and help a team move with urgency while keeping attention on the highest-value work.
- You think in systems and care about feedback loops, signal quality, and the way one improvement can compound across the platform.
- You understand AI from a practical product perspective, including the difference between classic machine learning and LLM-based approaches, and you can reason about probabilistic systems.
- You communicate openly and proactively, sharing experiments, outcomes, and direction clearly to build team confidence through transparency and momentum.
Benefits
- Annual bonus or commission plan in addition to base salary.
- Employee stock option plan.
- Public holiday swap option so you can exchange a public holiday for another day.
- Fully remote working arrangement, with team events and travel across the year.
- Five extra paid wellbeing and learning days each year.
- Learning budget of USD 500 per financial year, plus access to an additional career growth budget.
- Monthly WFH or transport allowance for internet, phone, or public transport costs.
- One-time home office setup allowance for items such as a desk, chair, or monitor.
- Parental leave of at least 18 weeks paid for primary carers and 6 weeks paid for secondary carers.
- Access to counselling and wellbeing support initiatives.
Additional information
Go1 describes its culture as one where people figure things out together, stay transparent, and keep moving forward.
