Job description
About the Role
Places is a utility-focused product from Raya, designed to help people discover and access exceptional places around the world through a trusted, curated community. Unlike social apps that optimize for screen time, this product is built around usefulness, authenticity, and member trust.
As the Product Manager for Places, you will convert leadership priorities into released software. This role is centered on execution: you will define requirements, create specs, coordinate the day-to-day work across engineering, design, and QA, and keep delivery moving from concept through launch.
You will be expected to stay close to the details, manage timelines and dependencies, and help the team ship high-quality work. You will also bring ideas, test them with users and data, and earn broader ownership over time as your judgment develops.
The Places team includes people from major technology companies and values learning, collaboration, and the chance to take on meaningful challenges.
Responsibilities
- Translate product priorities into actionable, build-ready specifications with clear requirements and success measures.
- Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, design, QA, and other partners from problem definition through launch.
- Run day-to-day coordination, including standups, progress tracking, blocker removal, and follow-through.
- Manage scope, timelines, and dependencies while calling out risks early and keeping leadership informed.
- Work closely with QA and engineering to validate releases and maintain a strong quality standard.
- Develop and present proposals backed by user feedback, prototypes, and data.
- Define metrics for shipped work, help instrument them, and report outcomes accurately.
- Keep stakeholders aligned with clear communication about status, blockers, trade-offs, and results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in product management or a related function such as engineering, design, product operations, or program management with a pathway into product.
- Strong organization and project management ability for complex, multi-stakeholder work.
- Good user empathy and developing product judgment.
- Comfort working with data, metrics, and problem diagnosis.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Exposure to agile delivery methods and modern product tools.
- Low-ego mindset, strong ownership, and openness to learning from senior product leaders.
- Reliability in execution, with the ability to deliver work on time and with attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, design, and QA.
- Strong bias toward impact, trade-off thinking, and solving blockers.
