Job description

About Adyen

Adyen offers a unified platform for payments, data, and financial products, trusted by global companies such as Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The company is built around ambitious goals and a culture that supports people in taking real ownership of their careers.

The organization brings together motivated teams that solve complex technical problems at scale and collaborate to create responsible, innovative solutions that help businesses grow faster.

Role Overview

As a Product Manager focused on payments, you will help shape Adyen’s core payments engine for the APAC region. The team is working on improving payment acceptance, boosting payment performance, and introducing new capabilities for different merchant use cases.

You will identify and define new product opportunities, guide development from concept through launch, and continue driving success after release. This role partners closely with teams across Singapore and other global locations, including Engineering, Partnerships, Implementation Engineering, Compliance, Support, and Commercial functions.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Put merchant experience first by building solutions that remove friction and create meaningful value.
  • Take full ownership of a product from strategy and roadmap planning through delivery, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
  • Focus on measurable business outcomes such as revenue growth, cost reduction, and stronger adoption rather than shipping features alone.
  • Work with a long-term mindset, planning foundational product work that can deliver major wins over the next 2-3 years.
  • Make clear prioritization decisions, explain trade-offs, and confidently say no when needed.
  • Act quickly and decisively with strong judgment, even when the answer is not perfect.
  • Track product performance closely, including revenue, cost, and adoption metrics, to understand what is working.
  • Collaborate across teams to define, deliver, and improve payment product features for merchants.

What You Will Not Be Doing

  • Working as a feature factory that produces output without meaningful customer value.
  • Serving as operational support instead of solving the underlying product problem.
  • Getting absorbed in engineering implementation details rather than merchant impact.
  • Sharing ownership in a fragmented way; this role requires clear end-to-end accountability.
  • Waiting passively for requirements instead of proactively leading product direction.
  • Building solutions without first developing a deep understanding of the problem.
  • Treating launch as the final goal instead of measuring adoption and long-term impact.

Candidate Profile

You should bring strong product instincts, the ability to listen carefully to merchants, engineers, and partners, and the capability to turn complex problems into well-structured plans. Success in this role depends on strong collaboration, clear communication, and the ability to own work from beginning to end.

Additional Information

This position is based in the Singapore office. Adyen operates with an office-first approach and expects in-person collaboration rather than remote-only working.

Adyen aims to respond to applicants within 5 business days. The interview process typically takes around 4 weeks, although the timeline may vary depending on the role. Candidates are encouraged to request flexibility if needed.

Adyen emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion and encourages applicants from underrepresented communities to apply even if they do not meet every qualification listed.

What This Role Expects

  • At least 5 years of product management experience.
  • Experience in payments is preferred, especially with API-based products.
  • Ability to own solutions end to end with a strong focus on value, impact, and execution.
  • Skill in understanding customer, engineering, and partner needs to identify problems the company can uniquely solve.
  • Experience structuring, managing, and communicating cross-functional project plans.
  • Comfort working with analysts and software engineers in collaborative delivery teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external audiences.

Diversity Statement

The company values diverse perspectives and believes they are essential to solving complex business and technical challenges. Candidates are encouraged to apply in a way that reflects their authentic selves.
