Role overview
Google is looking for a Product Manager to lead the next phase of Google Chat, including the core chat experience and the Ask Gemini integration. This position sits at the intersection of real-time communication, AI-driven productivity, and enterprise collaboration. You will work with engineering, design, and AI research partners across Workspace to shape experiences that help users work faster, smarter, and more intuitively.
The role is centered on building and evolving messaging products used by millions of global users, while also defining how generative AI should transform teamwork over the coming years. You will collaborate with model builders and senior leaders to guide product direction and deliver meaningful impact at scale.

Compensation
The estimated US compensation for this role is $240000 to $334000 annually, plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits. Final pay depends on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 10 years of experience in product management or a related technical function
- 5 years of experience taking technical products from concept through launch
- Experience launching or developing products or technologies in artificial intelligence or machine learning
Preferred qualifications
- Strong knowledge of workplace productivity software or unified communications platforms
- Comfort working through major technical uncertainty and turning 0-to-1 ideas into shipped products while also improving established platforms
- Excellent executive communication skills and the ability to align large, complex organizations
- Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to define metrics and make decisions based on data
- Experience building and launching enterprise products using AI, machine learning, or generative AI/LLMs
