Job description
About the role
Rakuten Viber operates one of the most widely used and frequently downloaded apps globally, giving the team the chance to shape experiences for hundreds of millions of people. The company’s wider vision is to make everyday communication and interaction simpler, from staying close to family to supporting business connections and personal interests.
Viber is also growing its fintech offering through Viber Pay, helping its international user base send and manage money more easily. This role sits at the center of that expansion and focuses on improving how users find, start using, and continue engaging with Viber’s fintech products.
The position calls for a highly analytical Product Manager with fintech expertise who can convert complex data into practical product actions. You will be responsible for strategy, roadmap planning, and delivery for onboarding and growth initiatives across multiple markets. The work spans product-led growth, compliance, marketing, fraud prevention, and legal requirements, with a strong emphasis on experimentation, data analysis, and mobile user experience.
You will join a dedicated squad and collaborate closely with Engineering, Data, Design, Marketing, and Support to prioritize work based on measurable impact. The role requires balancing smooth user journeys with strong compliance controls while driving improvement in conversion, retention, and market expansion.
The company is open to candidates with experience in onboarding and growth, cards, or one of those areas, provided they have a strong mobile product mindset and a data-driven approach.
Work arrangement: Hybrid model.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of fintech onboarding and growth initiatives from early ideas through launch, defining success measures and refining the product based on live performance.
- Improve conversion at the top of the funnel by testing new approaches, redesigning landing pages, and using A/B tests, cohort studies, and funnel analysis.
- Reduce user friction by studying behavior data and journey maps to find UX blockers and simplify data capture and form completion.
- Own the complete lifecycle for physical and virtual cards, including application, issuance, spending features, and card control tools.
- Design user journeys that satisfy Risk, Fraud, and KYC requirements while preserving a smooth and intuitive experience.
- Prepare products for launch in new countries by reviewing local market data, user patterns, and regional fintech behavior.
- Lead the squad by guiding engineers and designers and aligning work with Support, Marketing, and Compliance through data-backed decisions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience as a Product Manager in fintech or consumer payments, with hands-on exposure to growth/onboarding or card-related products such as digital wallets or card management.
- Strong background in B2C mobile apps, including a solid understanding of mobile user behavior and UX improvement.
- Advanced analytical capability with practical experience using tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, Tableau, Looker, and SQL to identify funnel issues, form hypotheses, run experiments, and improve growth.
- Proven cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders using evidence and clear reasoning.
- Excellent English communication skills with the ability to present complex data and product ideas in a clear, persuasive way.
Additional advantages
- Prior experience with KYC/AML onboarding flows and growth work for a large digital banking product.
- Experience building a consumer product from the ground up.
Work environment
The role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom, and follows a hybrid working model.
