Job description
About the Role
This opportunity is for a Product & Experience Designer based in the United States and is being shared on behalf of a partner employer that handles all application review and follow-up steps. The role blends product design, service design, and experience strategy to create clear, human-centered solutions for complex healthcare journeys.
You will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from early discovery and research to delivery and ongoing improvement. The work is highly collaborative and distributed, with close partnership across product, engineering, clinical, operations, data, and marketing teams. You will help turn complex requirements into intuitive, accessible experiences across product interfaces, end-to-end journeys, design systems, and brand touchpoints. This is a broad, ownership-heavy role for someone who enjoys ambiguity, meaningful problem-solving, and fast-paced environments. The position also includes the use of modern AI-assisted workflows to speed up exploration, iteration, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead product and experience design for web and mobile healthcare initiatives from discovery through release.
- Turn complex user, clinical, and business needs into simple workflows, interfaces, and interaction patterns.
- Run user research, interviews, and usability tests to guide design choices and improve solutions.
- Create service and journey maps to uncover friction points and identify opportunities for better experiences.
- Facilitate collaborative workshops with product, engineering, and operations partners to align on solutions.
- Help build and maintain design systems that support consistency, accessibility, and scale.
- Contribute to brand and marketing design work so product and communication experiences feel unified.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and with strong fidelity.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or experience design.
- Strong command of tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Hands-on experience creating user flows, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, and polished mockups.
- Ability to simplify complex, multi-stakeholder problems into accessible and practical design solutions.
- Experience collaborating across functions in fast-moving or startup-style environments.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions and trade-offs.
- Prior work across multiple products or platforms is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to design systems, accessibility practices, and iterative product development is beneficial.
- Background in healthcare or other regulated, complex environments is a plus.
- Comfort using AI tools to support ideation, iteration, and workflow efficiency.
Perks and Benefits
- Annual compensation of $120,000 to $140,000, plus equity and benefits.
- Remote-first setup available anywhere in the United States.
- Chance to create meaningful experiences that improve healthcare access and outcomes for complex patient groups.
- Strong collaboration with product, clinical, engineering, and operations teams.
- Exposure to product, service, and brand design across the full experience spectrum.
- A work culture centered on empathy, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to accessibility, health equity, and inclusive design.
