Job description
About the Company
Solinius is hiring for a product design role at Notion, the collaborative AI workspace used by individuals, teams, and large organizations to keep knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools in one place. The company focuses on building thoughtful, lasting products with a strong emphasis on craft, human-centered work, and creating tools that help people spend more time on meaningful work.
Role Overview
This position is for a product designer who can help shape software that feels timeless, intuitive, and carefully crafted. The work calls for strong product judgment, UX thinking, technical fluency, and an eye for detail. The designer will help define new experiences, refine existing ones, and contribute to the evolution of the product and design system.
The role may be based in San Francisco or New York City. The team works in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, which are the company’s anchor days. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating with teammates on those days.
What You’ll Do
- Develop product ideas that strike the right balance between long-term vision, design quality, speed of execution, and business value.
- Own features from early concept through user experience design and final visual polish.
- Lead end-to-end initiatives with engineering partners to take ideas through launch.
- Work closely with Customer Experience, Sales, and Customer Success to understand the needs of different customer groups and use that insight to shape prioritization and roadmap planning.
- Collaborate with Marketing on storytelling across the user journey, including the website, product surfaces, help content, and other channels.
- Design new interaction patterns that are easy to use, practical, and consistent, while helping evolve the design system in a deliberate way as the product grows.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience and the ability to independently manage projects from start to finish.
- A strong drive to understand customer needs and turn them into effective user experiences.
- Comfort with ambiguous problem spaces and a good instinct for simple mental models and smooth product flows.
- The ability to create interfaces that are clear, approachable, and visually strong.
- A practical mindset that weighs business impact, feasibility, and speed alongside visual quality.
- Confidence in opinionated thinking, paired with openness to feedback and collaboration across stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to use both written and visual storytelling to build alignment.
- Experience working across design, engineering, research, data, and project management.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing and building useful products in small teams.
- A perspective that adds to a diverse, complementary team.
- First-hand experience with fragmented tools or information silos and a desire to improve them.
- Familiarity with the ideas and work of Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, Bret Victor, and similar computing pioneers.
- Ability to code as a designer.
Compensation
For San Francisco-based candidates, the estimated base pay range for this role is USD 205,000 to USD 300,000 per year. The final offer may vary depending on location, scope of the role, and the candidate’s background and expertise. The company also offers cash compensation, equity, and benefits.
Additional Information
By submitting an application, candidates acknowledge that the company and its affiliates may collect and process their information in line with the Global Recruiting Privacy Policy and NYLL 144.
The company expects employees to be curious, experimental, and comfortable using AI as a collaborator in their work. Deep AI specialization is not required for every role unless specifically stated in the job qualifications.
Equal Opportunity and Accommodations
The company welcomes applicants from a broad range of backgrounds and encourages people to apply even if they do not meet every qualification listed. It is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records may be considered where permitted by law.
Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans. Candidates who need support should contact their recruiter.
