Role summary

This full-time Product Analyst role in New York, NY sits within the Analytics Team and supports macys.com by turning data into insights that improve planning, day-to-day execution, and the customer experience. The position partners with Product Management, User Experience, Technology, Marketing, and Merchandising teams to deliver reporting, analysis, and business intelligence that help guide decisions and growth initiatives.

The role also contributes to A/B and multivariate testing programs, helps shape SEO improvements, and works across multiple projects and stages while maintaining high-quality analysis and recommendations. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with Product, SEO, and Technology teams to find ways to improve conversion, with a strong emphasis on search engine optimization.
  • Spot technical SEO opportunities and translate findings into practical, data-led recommendations.
  • Track SEO developments, algorithm changes, and competitor activity to keep analysis current and relevant.
  • Create and maintain SEO dashboards using Tableau, Adobe Analytics, Looker, and other data sources to provide a reliable single view of performance.
  • Work with Marketing to evaluate overall SERP performance, build forecasts, and recommend next steps based on insights.
  • Plan experiments, validate data, analyze test results, and measure how SEO changes affect traffic and conversion.
  • Work with partner teams to define reporting needs for new site features and help write technical specifications for analytics implementation.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis that supports the product roadmap and present clear insights to digital leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Use digital analytics tools thoroughly to support business goals and decision-making.
  • Help train internal users on digital analytics platforms and tools.
  • Stay informed on digital analytics and e-commerce best practices and emerging trends.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive environment and maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in digital analytics or digital marketing with an SEO focus.
  • Proven ability to answer complex business questions that connect search queries to sales; experience in large retail environments is preferred.
  • Experience with SEO platforms such as Search Console, Google Analytics, SEOClarity, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Solid understanding of HTML, website structure, and web analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and troubleshoot SQL and GBQ queries.
  • Comfort working across multiple priorities, adapting to changing needs, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, occasionally move around the workplace, reach with arms, and maintain close vision.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule depending on department and company needs.
