Job description

Role overview

Formula 1 is seeking an experienced Producer to support the delivery of premium live and recorded programming for F1TV and TrackTV. Based at Biggin Hill and working across global race venues, the role combines editorial coordination, floor management, gallery support and production planning. You will work closely with the Senior Broadcast Director and wider production teams to ensure broadcasts are delivered smoothly, creatively and to a high editorial standard.

About the organisation

Formula 1 is driven by innovation and a long history of pushing boundaries in sport and entertainment. For more than 75 years, the championship has helped advance technology and create a lasting impact beyond the racetrack. Every broadcast, event and on-screen moment is supported by specialist teams across production, engineering, logistics, legal, security, media rights, marketing and communications.

Key responsibilities

In this position, you will help coordinate season-long production activity, support live shows and shoots, and keep workflows organised across race weekends. You will manage presenters and crew on the floor, maintain effective communication between gallery and site teams, and help make sure scripts, graphics, assets and running orders are ready for transmission. The role also involves contributing ideas, assisting with research and script preparation, and supporting archive and virtual production workflows.

Production planning and coordination

  • Assist with organising production resources, live broadcasts and shoots across the Formula 1 season.
  • Work with production leaders to understand briefs and turn them into usable content for F1TV, TrackTV and related programming.
  • Help with logistics so teams have the scripts, materials and support needed to work efficiently.

Floor management and on-site delivery

  • Oversee floor management for presenters, crew and technical staff during live, rehearsal and pre-recorded segments.
  • Keep the set environment calm, controlled and professional while ensuring clear communication between gallery and location teams.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to make sure studio setups, infrastructure and equipment requirements are in place.
  • Travel internationally to race events and support on-site production, rehearsals, technical checks and race-weekend features.

Editorial and content support

  • Contribute ideas, visual directions and editorial themes that strengthen the programme output.
  • Support senior producers and directors in building running orders and preparing scripts, assets and graphics for broadcast.
  • Provide clear direction to editors, researchers and production assistants when needed.
  • Help presenters with briefing notes, scripts and other editorial materials.
  • Research facts and verify information so content remains accurate, engaging and aligned with Formula 1 standards.

Technical and workflow awareness

  • Use Formula 1 archive and internal systems to locate relevant footage and anticipate editorial requirements.
  • Support virtual, AR and virtual-studio production by understanding how these elements connect with live workflows.
  • Apply knowledge of broadcast operations, including live timing, graphics, communication systems and production equipment.

Collaboration and ways of working

  • Work effectively within the production structure and support colleagues across multiple broadcast teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver consistent output across platforms.
  • Step into other production areas when necessary and remain flexible across the broadcast operation.
  • Keep improving output by reviewing work and identifying practical enhancements.

Required knowledge and experience

The ideal candidate should bring strong experience in live broadcast environments, along with confidence working in fast-paced, high-pressure conditions. You will need a solid understanding of live production galleries, timings, running orders and broadcast communication, plus strong computer skills and familiarity with broadcast hardware and software. Previous experience floor managing presenters and crew on location is essential.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Film/TV Production with a live production focus, or
  • A media studies qualification with an emphasis on television production.

Personal attributes

Success in this role depends on remaining calm under pressure, communicating clearly and staying highly organised. You should be adaptable, curious and eager to learn, with the confidence to react quickly when plans change.
