Role Overview
Puratos Kenya is hiring a Procurement Specialist to help improve procurement processes while keeping them aligned with global standards. The position focuses on cost control, supplier performance, compliance, and effective import/export handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure procurement work follows Puratos’ global strategy, internal policies, and operating procedures.
- Identify and source raw materials from local and international suppliers in a cost-conscious way.
- Raise, monitor, and administer purchase orders so deliveries arrive on time.
- Manage import and export activities, including paperwork and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and relevant government bodies.
- Keep the supplier records current and aligned with vendor management expectations.
- Assist with supplier reviews, audits, and ongoing improvement efforts.
- Make sure procurement activities meet food safety, quality, and sustainability requirements.
- Track stock levels and work with planning teams to avoid supply interruptions.
- Prepare procurement-related reports and translate data into useful recommendations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain operations.
- Practical exposure to import/export processes and local sourcing.
- Good knowledge of international trade rules and Kenyan customs procedures.
- Professional credentials such as CIPS, CPSP-K, or KISM membership will be an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
