Role overview
Skeleton Technologies is hiring an experienced Procurement Specialist to support its Information Technology function in Markranstädt, Saxony. The role is focused on making sure production and supply-chain requirements are met in a timely, efficient, and cost-conscious way as the company scales manufacturing of ultracapacitors and SuperBattery cells in Leipzig.
In this position, you will work on purchasing planning, supplier coordination, inventory control, and master data maintenance for assigned parts. You will also collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to keep materials flowing smoothly and support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
What you will do
- Plan, order, and coordinate raw materials, components, and other resources needed for manufacturing across the Skeleton Technologies Group.
- Make sure material availability supports the production plan.
- Maintain master data for the parts assigned to you.
- Identify material requirements and create purchase orders.
- Schedule and monitor the delivery of materials and products.
- Keep inventory balanced to reduce surplus stock and avoid obsolescence while maintaining the right stock levels.
- Handle inventory disruptions, schedule changes, and order cancellations.
- Share forecasts with the supplier base.
- Work with other departments on production targets, timelines, supplier payments, and related matters.
- Support ongoing process improvements.
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent hands-on experience in automation, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Practical understanding of direct material purchasing, including components, production parts, and raw materials.
- Experience using MRP/ERP tools such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems for demand planning and purchase order handling.
- Knowledge of supplier qualification and onboarding workflows.
- Familiarity with VMI, blanket order, and consignment stock arrangements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and component specifications.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain risk management, including single-source dependencies, lead times, and buffer stock planning.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and escalation handling.
- Comfort working across functions with engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Strong Excel or similar data-analysis skills for spend analysis, price comparison, and demand forecasting.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including communication with international suppliers.
