Role Summary
We are hiring a full-time Procurement Specialist in Dublin to support procurement activity across operations and projects. This role works closely with the Procurement Manager, Operations Managers, Project/Site Managers, and other stakeholders as needed. The position has overall responsibility for day-to-day operational procurement and serves as the main contact point for suppliers and the project team in this area. The job is office-based.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the purchase of supplies and materials for the operations function.
- Prepare quotations and purchase orders for business operations, including subcontractor purchase orders and efforts to secure the most competitive pricing.
- Take part in weekly planning meetings and keep the operations team informed about procurement policies, price lists, end-of-life items, stock levels, long-lead materials, and bulk purchasing.
- Act as the primary contact for approved suppliers.
- Help recover charges for restocking or obtain credits for unused or unwanted goods.
- Track supplier performance and raise concerns to the Procurement Manager when needed.
- Coordinate on-time delivery of materials so project deadlines are met, working closely with project teams.
- Build and maintain supplier records and relationships to support better commercial terms.
- Meet regularly with sales representatives and visit suppliers as required.
- Handle additional duties as assigned, including procurement and supply support for other regions.
Skills and Experience
- Background in technical equipment supply chain activities.
- Ability to provide strong telephone and face-to-face customer service while working under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Good organizational ability and comfort managing several tasks and projects at once.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to support a collaborative environment for customers and colleagues.
- Familiarity with Spectrum and EMB would be an advantage.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or higher.
- A third-level qualification in a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior procurement and supplier relationship experience in a technical equipment environment is required.
- Experience in supplier evaluation and purchasing best practices is also required.
