Role overview

Central Coast Council is looking for an experienced, proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join the team and support the delivery of high-quality procurement services across the organisation. This is a temporary full-time opportunity through to June 2027.

Working arrangement

  • 35 hours per week on a 9-day fortnight pattern with a rostered day off.
  • Flexible hybrid working is available, including the option to work from home.
  • The role is based at the Wyong Administration Building.

What you will do

In this position, you will support internal stakeholders and management with procurement activities from identifying needs through to sourcing, evaluation, and contract administration. You will help ensure Council secures value-for-money outcomes while delivering service that supports the community.

Key duties

  • Assist with the development, review and completion of tenders, quotations, expressions of interest, procurement plans, contract documents and specifications.
  • Contribute to sourcing activities and evaluation processes, including tender administration, record management and contract documentation.
  • Use Council’s eProcurement systems in accordance with relevant procedures, policies and governance requirements.
  • Support category management planning and other related procurement projects.
  • Provide advice, guidance and training to internal teams on procurement, tendering and contract processes.

What you will bring

  • A degree in procurement, supply chain, contract management, business or a related discipline, or substantial current experience in a similar role supported by ongoing professional development.
  • A current Class C driver licence.
  • Strong customer service focus and the ability to deliver practical procurement support.

Salary and employment terms

The starting salary for this role is up to 92.9k, with the potential to progress to a maximum of 107.7k following skills and performance assessment, plus 12% superannuation. This is a temporary full-time position. Council may also create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and use it to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
