Role Overview

We are currently in search of a proactive Procurement Manager experienced in electronics and PCB assembly procurement. This position encompasses managing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of components, materials, and services essential for PCB manufacturing and assembly. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in electronics supply chain management, vendor relations, cost containment, and lead-time optimization. Compensation will reflect experience and includes a performance-based incentive bonus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop procurement strategies to secure necessary materials and supplies meeting customer demands effectively.
  • Engage with suppliers to negotiate contracts, nurture supplier relationships, and ensure goods are delivered punctually.
  • Source electronic parts such as ICs, resistors, capacitors, connectors, PCB panels, mechanical components, and production materials according to BOMs and project demands.
  • Maintain and build relationships with both domestic and international suppliers, including distributors.
  • Negotiate pricing structures, delivery terms, and lead times to maximize cost efficiency and secure continuous supply.
  • Oversee inventory levels to align with production schedules while avoiding surplus stock.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to guarantee material availability at the right time.
  • Identify alternative or secondary sources for components to reduce supply risk and address long lead times.
  • Keep procurement tracking and reporting systems up-to-date and accurate.
  • Manage supplier selection, qualification, ongoing performance monitoring based on on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, as well as address corrective actions and conduct audits when necessary.
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of procurement specialists and material planners, directing tasks and ensuring alignment with production deadlines and sourcing goals.
  • Champion a culture encouraging accountability, continuous enhancements, and cross-functional cooperation.
  • Provide training programs aimed at improving team members' technical aptitude and negotiation capabilities.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs such as cost savings, lead time reduction, and quality targets, regularly reviewing team performance.
  • Address and resolve escalated issues involving suppliers, including disputes, delays, or compliance challenges.
  • Manage and regularly update departmental SOPs and process flowcharts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of five years’ procurement experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, or PCB assembly sectors.
  • Academic credentials such as a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or closely related disciplines considered advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of electronic components, BOM interpretation, and management of global supply chains.
  • Experience operating ERP and MRP systems proficiently.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and procurement software, complemented by robust data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Exceptional negotiating, communication, and supplier relationship management expertise.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to juggle multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Capabilities in leadership, strategic decision-making, especially under pressure.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards, SMT fabrication processes, and JIT (Just-In-Time) manufacturing principles.
  • Experience handling component shortages and lifecycle management is highly desirable.
  • Certifications like CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent credentials are a preferred addition.
