Position Overview

We seek a seasoned, strategic Procurement Manager to direct sourcing and purchasing activities, ensuring optimal value, quality, and service from vendors. This role involves crafting procurement strategies, managing supplier partnerships, negotiating contracts, overseeing buying operations, and spotting opportunities to trim costs and enhance efficiency. Collaboration with finance, operations, supply chain, legal, projects, and top management is crucial to align procurement with overall business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and deploy procurement strategies aligned with company targets, operational needs, and financial plans.
  • Manage comprehensive procurement functions: sourcing, tendering, vendor selection, contract negotiations, order placement, and supplier performance oversight.
  • Identify and qualify dependable suppliers meeting standards for quality, cost, delivery, compliance, and service.
  • Maintain strategic supplier relationships, establishing commercial contracts, pricing, payment terms, and contract clauses.
  • Track supplier adherence to performance metrics, service criteria, quality benchmarks, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
  • Lead competitive tender processes including RFPs and RFQs.
  • Develop and update procurement policies, approval processes, and governance standards.
  • Seek cost reduction opportunities, streamline buying processes, and implement value-focused initiatives.
  • Study market and supplier trends, pricing, and supply risks to inform procurement decisions.
  • Collaborate with finance to manage budgets, expenditure tracking, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, warehousing, operational, project, and production teams to ensure timely procurement and availability.
  • Work alongside legal and risk management to review contracts, mitigate supplier risks, and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor procurement performance through KPIs, spend analytics, supplier scorecards, and reporting tools.
  • Maintain precise documentation including supplier records, contracts, purchase orders, and spend data.
  • Administer procurement systems like ERP and e-procurement platforms, optimizing purchasing workflows.
  • Identify supply chain vulnerabilities and implement mitigation, contingency, and business continuity measures.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of responsibility, teamwork, and continuous enhancement.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, cost analyses, and strategic recommendations for senior management.
  • Research and apply emerging procurement technologies, automation tools, sustainable sourcing practices, and sector trends.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in procurement efficiency, supplier performance, cost management, transparency, and business value.

Candidate Requirements

  • Deep expertise in procurement management, strategic sourcing, vendor relationship management, contract administration, and purchasing practices.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing procurement operations, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and relationship stewardship.
  • Knowledgeable in procurement workflows, tender coordination, contract bargaining, purchasing controls, and supplier evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with strategic thinking, commercial insight, problem-solving, and decision-making prowess.
  • Experience handling procurement budgets, expenditure analysis, cost-saving strategies, and contract management.
  • Proficiency with procurement software, ERP/tools, e-procurement platforms, and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Coupa, Ariba, NetSuite, or similar is beneficial.
  • Understanding of procurement performance indicators, spend analytics, supplier metrics, and reporting procedures.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks related to suppliers, contracts, operations, and supply chains.
  • Knowledge in procurement governance, compliance, ethical sourcing, and sustainable purchasing.
  • Capability to juggle multiple procurement initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Commercially minded, focusing on cost-effectiveness, quality, service, risk mitigation, and long-term vendor value.
  • Adept at collaborating effectively with finance, legal, supply chain, logistics, operations, project teams, and executive leadership.
  • High integrity, professionalism, accountability, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Committed to ongoing innovation, excellence in procurement, and responsible sourcing.
  • Preferred educational background: Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Commerce, Operations Management, or related fields.
  • Additional procurement certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP or equivalents are a plus.
