Job description
Job purpose
This position is accountable for steering and coordinating procurement work end to end, with ownership of the process and a focus on delivering services efficiently, economically, and in line with the organization’s strategy and service-level commitments. The incumbent is also expected to follow all applicable business policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Handle procurement assignments for projects, covering the full cycle from RFP preparation through supplier evaluation and final contract execution.
- Support the sourcing approach with practical input and carry out the plan as guided by the supervising director.
- Prepare and submit purchasing request updates and reports to the supervising director.
- Take the lead on purchasing requests by checking completeness, categorizing them by factors such as risk and financial value, and routing them to purchasing analysts.
- Help monitor SLAs for tendered and non-tendered change orders, including those linked to supplier markets and spend categories.
- Deliver operational service tasks and process execution with a focus on results.
- Assist the supervising director in monitoring market movement, including competition, new market entrants, replacement products or services, and shifts in the value chain.
- Contribute to building segmentation rules and matching the supply base to the appropriate relationship model.
- Provide guidance to the supervising director on supplier financial and supply-related risks.
- Maintain the supplier catalogue and keep it current.
- Drive procurement synergies with other subsidiaries and coordinate implementation with the relevant synergy teams.
- Support business case development, including identifying cross-functional resource needs, timelines, and target outcomes.
- Analyze historical information to identify demand and consumption patterns and flag unusual deviations.
- Help manage segmentation criteria and align the supply base with the intended relationship type.
- Support business planning efforts alongside the Procurement GM.
- Work with other sectors to adapt to changing business needs and prioritize sourcing initiatives accordingly.
- Review purchasing needs and project specifications with unit management and suppliers.
Experience and background
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. The role should have hands-on exposure to purchasing, procurement operations, and contract management within the telecommunications sector.

Education and certifications
A bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering or Business Administration is required. A master’s degree in either of these fields is also listed as an educational qualification. Preferred certifications include CIPP, CPSM, and CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
