Job description
Role overview
An analytically driven analyst is needed to join the London portfolio operations team. The position focuses on supporting a varied set of real estate investments across the UK and Europe, particularly in alternative sectors. You will work closely with internal colleagues and external partners to help implement business plans, track performance, and advance strategic initiatives at asset level.
This opportunity is well suited to an early-career professional who wants to deepen their experience in real estate asset management within a collaborative and rigorous environment.
What you will do
- Assist with asset management activities for assigned UK and European investments, with an emphasis on improving performance and creating long-term value.
- Support delivery of investment-level business plans, including leasing work, capital improvement projects, ESG initiatives, and other value-enhancement strategies.
- Help build annual budgets alongside internal stakeholders and operating partners.
- Coordinate and review valuations with Finance, operating partners, and external valuers.
- Track investment performance and keep financial model forecasts current, updating them with actual results to support decisions and revisions to business plans.
- Contribute to quarterly reporting for Portfolio Management and Finance, including variance analysis and refreshed projections aligned to changing plans.
- Prepare presentation materials for senior leaders that summarise performance trends, strategic updates, and investment progress for quarterly reviews.
- Take part in site visits and help oversee third parties such as operating partners, property managers, and leasing teams to ensure alignment with asset strategy and operational objectives.
- Build financial models and run scenario analyses to support investment decisions and performance optimisation.
- Work with internal teams on hold/sell analysis, refinancing activity, and exit planning, including preparation of materials for senior leadership.
- Maintain effective working relationships with joint venture partners, consultants, and service providers.
Skills and experience
- Between 0 and 3 years of experience in real estate asset management, investment, or a related area.
- Exposure to alternative real estate sectors such as student accommodation, residential, senior living, or self-storage is helpful but not essential.
- Strong analytical ability and financial modelling capability, with solid Excel skills.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring, paired with strong attention to detail.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills.
- Well organised, able to balance several priorities in a busy environment.
- A proactive team player who can also work independently with self-motivation.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Argus and Power BI would be an advantage.
Additional details
The position is based in London and will involve occasional travel within the UK and Europe.
