Job description

Role Overview

Aldar Education is looking for a skilled Primary Teacher to join Noya British School in Abu Dhabi right away. The school is the latest flagship campus under the Aldar Schools brand and is based on Yas Island, in a lively area close to amenities, leisure options, and an international community.

The school delivers a strong British curriculum at a cost that aims to remain accessible to families. Its teaching model focuses on personalised learning, high academic standards, and helping pupils develop the capabilities needed for success in a modern, fast-changing world. The school also places importance on building a welcoming community, encouraging collaboration between students, parents, and staff, and supporting sustainability through environmentally responsible practices.

This role is suited to an educator who aligns with the school’s values, understands and respects the culture of the region, and is eager to contribute to one of Abu Dhabi’s leading school groups.

Teaching and Learning

  • Deliver engaging lessons that motivate pupils and help them achieve strong academic outcomes.
  • Work closely with other teachers to design lessons that match curriculum expectations.
  • Set up classroom spaces, learning materials, and displays that support a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Plan and present lessons that address the full range of abilities within the class.
  • Use lively and imaginative teaching methods to keep pupils interested and encouraged.
  • Observe learners and assess progress in line with school assessment practices.
  • Reflect on classroom practice, lesson delivery, pupil progress, and learning environment, then make adjustments where needed.
  • Collaborate with specialists such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.

Assessment and Progress Tracking

  • Take ownership of a class’s academic progress.
  • Maintain assessment records and track pupil development using Target Tracker.
  • Use assessment data to shape future planning, support, and interventions.
  • Share progress updates with parents and carers during parent-teacher conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour and Classroom Management

  • Apply the school’s behaviour policy consistently.
  • Manage classes effectively with strategies suited to pupils’ needs.
  • Build respectful relationships with pupils while using authority appropriately and acting decisively when needed.
  • Model the attitudes, values, and behaviours expected from pupils.
  • Set high expectations for conduct, self-management, and independence.
  • Carry out duties in line with school policy and direction.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a curriculum working group by supporting planning, assessment, resources, and related events.
  • Help organise and participate in school activities, outings, and events that may take place in the evening or on weekends.
  • Communicate with parents and carers about achievement and wellbeing using school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
  • Play an active role in the wider culture and community life of the school.
  • Lead one extracurricular activity each term on a weekly basis.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, along with PGCE or another recognised teaching qualification.
  • All required documents must be legally attested.
  • At least 1 to 2 years of teaching experience.

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Experience teaching students for whom English is not the first language.
  • Strong commitment to teaching and to the development of the whole child.
  • High professional standards and a genuine focus on children’s wellbeing.
  • Recent and regular involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Respectful, inclusive approach toward all members of a school community.
  • Positive, practical, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced DBS or police clearance check.
  • Willingness to live in the same emirate as the assigned school.
