Role overview
Memphis Goodwill, Inc. is seeking a part-time Pricer in Corinth, MS to support the flow of donated goods through sorting, pricing, merchandising, and floor replenishment. This position works under the direct guidance of the TLC and/or ATL and helps ensure that items are processed quickly, accurately, and in line with store standards. The role also requires attention to brand recognition, pricing accuracy, safety, and an orderly work area.
What you will do
- Process incoming donations within 24 hours so merchandise keeps moving efficiently to the sales floor.
- Separate items into salable, salvage, and trash categories, and place non-salable apparel, shoes, handbags, broken wares, damaged electrical or mechanical goods, wet items, and similar materials in the proper disposal stream.
- Price merchandise using the standard baseline pricing guide, including special pricing for items of notable value.
- Replenish the sales floor by moving merchandise, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and displaying items neatly.
- Apply markdowns according to company policy.
- Stay informed about brand names, merchandise types, market trends, and competitive pricing.
- Use current Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notices to help prevent unsafe products from being sold.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operable processing area and equipment.
- Follow safety and security procedures and report hazards when identified.
- Meet the expected production targets for assigned pricing areas, including Shoe Pricer: 60 totes per day; Accessories Pricer: 20 totes per day; Books Pricer: 50 totes or 2.5 Dandux per day; Electrics Pricer: 50 totes and 3 Dandux per day; and Wares Pricer: 75 totes.
- Safely move wares totes to and from the sales floor, keeping them no more than four high, and stack empty totes up to 15 high.
- Attend in-service and other job-related training as directed by the Team Leader Coach.
- Complete additional duties assigned by the TLC and/or ATL.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods, and to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 60 lbs on a regular basis.
- Capability to communicate clearly in both spoken and written form.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and a flexible schedule.
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude and a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
- Comfort working in temperature variations.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with the TLC, ATL, team members, customers, and donors.
Working conditions
This role is performed onsite and involves regular standing, walking, lifting, and handling of donations in an environment where temperatures may vary.
Production expectations
- Shoe Pricer: 60 totes per day.
- Accessories Pricer: 20 totes per day.
- Books Pricer: 50 totes or 2.5 Dandux per day.
- Electrics Pricer: 50 totes and 3 Dandux per day.
- Wares Pricer: 75 totes.
Physical demands
The job requires frequent lifting up to 60 lbs, along with bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and long periods of standing or walking.
