Role overview
We are looking for an experienced IT presales professional to support business growth through strong bid strategy, proposal development, and client-facing solution presentations. The role calls for a sharp communicator who can work across RFPs, tender submissions, concept notes, presentations, system study work, technical documentation, proposal consolidation, bid coordination, and content refinement.
The position is based in Nairobi County, Kenya, and is suited to someone with solid presales experience, especially in IT services and international client engagement.
Experience and education
Applicants should bring 3 to 6 years of relevant experience and hold a BE, B.Tech, MBA, or PGDM qualification.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with the business development team to shape strong bid strategies and build opportunities from the ground up.
- Turn solution ideas into clear presentations and client-ready PowerPoint material.
- Take full ownership of proposal delivery, ensuring submissions are timely, high quality, and fully compliant.
- Create practical bid plans with defined timelines, resources, and budget expectations.
- Follow company processes and internal working standards consistently.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders to prepare persuasive bids, including price discussions and negotiation support.
- Represent the client-facing side of the solution and demonstrate products or services as needed.
- Review bid pricing for competitiveness and share benchmarking insights.
- Handle several opportunities at the same time without losing quality or control.
- Coach team members to strengthen skills and improve delivery standards and turnaround times.
- Run internal knowledge-sharing sessions on proposal and bid best practices.
- Support cross-functional teams such as HR, Finance, Marketing, and BSS whenever required.
- Keep the proposal repository fully updated and maintain complete MIS compliance for the team.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should already have a background in IT presales or a closely related role, including experience working with international clients across the US, Middle East, and Africa. They should be able to deliver persuasive presentations to audiences ranging from operational teams to senior leadership, including C-level executives.
Strong knowledge of proposal development, tender participation, bid management, RFPs, and RFIs is important, along with confidence using presentation tools and related software. A clear understanding of the sales process and the ability to support sales teams effectively are also key. The role requires commercial thinking and the ability to connect technical solutions with customer outcomes and business value.
