Job description

About the Role

The Detroit Pistons are hiring a relationship-driven Premium Seating Executive to help expand revenue from their premium inventory, including courtside seats, club memberships, loge boxes, and contractual suite leases. This position focuses on delivering a high-touch, consultative experience to corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals across Metro Detroit and surrounding markets.

This opportunity is suited to a strong seller who enjoys a competitive, team-based, results-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is motivated by growth, relationship building, and delivering memorable client experiences while representing the Pistons brand with professionalism and integrity.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for generating new premium seating revenue, building and managing a strong sales pipeline, and creating long-term client relationships. The role also involves active prospecting, client presentations, arena tours, in-person meetings, and close collaboration with internal teams to support premium sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell courtside seating, premium club memberships, loge boxes, and full-season suite leases to new business prospects.
  • Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of corporate and individual leads across the Metro Detroit area.
  • Use a consultative sales style to understand client goals and match them with the right premium offerings.
  • Consistently pursue revenue targets through prospecting, relationship development, and deal closure.
  • Carry out outbound sales activity, including cold outreach, networking, referral follow-up, and CRM-based lead management.
  • Secure a set volume of weekly offsite meetings, arena visits, and in-venue client interactions.
  • Apply data, market insights, and segmentation to focus on the highest-value opportunities.
  • Provide a polished, premium-level experience for clients and prospects throughout the sales cycle.
  • Coordinate with Premium Service teammates to support a smooth transition after the sale and strong long-term satisfaction.
  • Represent the Pistons brand at games, events, and community activities with credibility and professionalism.
  • Partner with teams across Marketing, Business Intelligence, Corporate Partnerships, and Arena Operations to advance premium initiatives.
  • Share ideas for product packaging, programming, and sales approaches that improve demand and differentiation.
  • Stay informed on trends in premium seating, hospitality, and sports business.
  • Complete other duties as assigned in support of the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • At least 4 years of successful sales experience is needed, ideally in sports, hospitality, luxury, or B2B settings.
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships, managing a pipeline, and closing high-value deals.
  • Metro Detroit business connections are beneficial, though not mandatory.
  • A highly competitive, self-driven approach with strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with senior executives and a wide range of clients.
  • Comfort using CRM and sales tools such as Salesforce and Archtics/Ticketmaster, along with Microsoft Office applications like Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a live-events setting.
