Role overview
Aotea Electric Auckland is looking for a Pre-Construction Manager to take charge of the pre-construction function, with a focus on electrical estimating and design-and-build solutions. Key responsibilities
- Direct the creation of competitive and negotiated tender submissions, making sure they match the project scope, client expectations, and the company’s delivery capabilities.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the pre-construction stage.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, and subcontractors to address design and tender-related questions at an early stage.
- Oversee the design portion of all design-and-build proposals, from early concept development through to final client approval.
- Help prepare proposals and presentations for major bids and client briefings.
What you’ll need
- Proven ability to manage projects end to end, including schedules, budgets, and resource planning.
- Strong leadership capability with the confidence to guide and motivate a team.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
- Working knowledge of the codes, standards, and regulations that apply to electrical design and construction.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to adapt working hours when urgent requirements arise.
- Experience working as an Electrical Estimator or Project Manager on large commercial projects.
