Sun UW MGA FZ LLC is an international managing general agent that builds profitable specialty insurance portfolios across global markets. The business is growing its underwriting platform and is interested in insurance professionals who can bring existing books of business and help them expand.

Role Overview

This opportunity is aimed at entrepreneurial underwriters, portfolio managers, producers, and other insurance specialists who already manage or influence insurance portfolios and want to move them onto a flexible underwriting platform.

The company is open to both conventional and unconventional lines of business, including opportunities across multiple jurisdictions and niche market segments.

Areas of Interest

The platform is especially interested in opportunities within Property, Marine Hull, Surety & Contract Bonds, Trade Credit, Financial Guarantees, and other bond-related classes. It is also open to nearly all types of insurance and specialty business, including non-standard and emerging risks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and expand an existing insurance portfolio.
• Move profitable underwriting relationships onto the Sun UW MGA platform and help develop them further.
• Strengthen and maintain broker and client partnerships.
• Spot new market opportunities and support product development efforts.
• Protect underwriting profitability and manage overall portfolio performance.
• Work closely with capacity providers and reinsurance partners.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in the insurance industry.
• An existing portfolio, broker network, client base, or other production relationships.
• Proven ability to produce, influence, or transfer business.
• Solid knowledge of underwriting, portfolio management, or insurance distribution.
• An entrepreneurial approach with a strong focus on growth and profitability.
• Ability to operate independently in an international setting.

Preferred Experience

• Portfolios that may be placed with non-rated carriers.
• Exposure to specialty, niche, underserved, or hard-to-place risks.
• Experience handling international or cross-border insurance business.
• Existing connections with brokers, agents, coverholders, MGAs, or corporate clients.
• Background in creating new products or entering new markets.
