Job description
Role overview
This full-time, non-management position is based at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role sits within the Golf, Fitness, and Entertainment area and is focused on delivering a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable recreation experience for guests.
What you will do
You will help guests join recreation activities by encouraging participation, registering attendees, and arranging schedules. The role calls for creating a lively yet relaxed environment, sharing information about available leisure facilities and activities, and ensuring guests understand the safety rules and operating guidelines of the recreation area.
You will monitor activity in the recreation space and respond correctly if an emergency occurs, following local operating procedures. You will also watch for situations where a guest may not be able to safely take part in an activity and escalate concerns to a supervisor or manager.
Additional duties include keeping recreation equipment and supplies clean and in good working order, processing payments for rentals, activities, facility use, or retail purchases, and supporting overall quality standards. You may also be asked to handle work-related information in computer or point-of-sale systems.
Guest service and teamwork
The position requires consistent, professional guest interaction in line with company service standards. You will be expected to greet guests warmly, respond to their needs, assist guests with disabilities, communicate clearly, and work cooperatively with colleagues to help the team meet shared goals.
Safety, compliance, and physical requirements
You will need to report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, complete required safety training and certifications, and follow company policies and procedures. The job also involves maintaining a polished personal appearance, protecting confidential information and company property, and handling physically demanding tasks such as prolonged standing or walking, lifting and moving equipment, working in confined or elevated areas, and moving across uneven or slippery surfaces.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. No prior related work experience or supervisory experience is required. The role does require CPR certification, First Aid certification, Recreation Equipment certification, and any other licenses, certifications, or training mandated by local or state authorities.
Equal opportunity and brand context
The employer is committed to inclusive hiring and equal opportunity, valuing diverse backgrounds and avoiding discrimination on protected grounds. The Ritz-Carlton brand emphasizes luxury service, thoughtful guest care, and adherence to its Gold Standards, Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values.
