Plant Utility

Role overview

This position supports daily plant upkeep at the Fort Payne facility, with a strong focus on interior painting and general site maintenance. The role also includes managing cleaning materials, handling assorted operating supplies, and helping keep the outdoor areas safe and presentable through tasks such as snow removal, grounds care, and landscaping.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all required PPE practices and help maintain a safe work environment.
• Carry out routine cleaning and general upkeep across the facility.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries to the Maintenance Manager right away.
• Track and help maintain adequate stocks of cleaning supplies and other operating materials.
• Operate a forklift safely and complete basic preventive maintenance as needed.
• Support groundskeeping and landscaping tasks around the property.
• Participate in company training to expand job knowledge and skills.
• Take on errands and other assigned miscellaneous tasks.
• Communicate clearly with the Maintenance Manager and plant team members.
• Work in line with ADS core values in daily activities.
• Maintain and refresh painted safety lines throughout the facility, including walls and designated walkways.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate is practical, reliable, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Success in this role depends on strong communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to stay active throughout the shift.

Physical demands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Requires standing and moving for at least 8 continuous hours during scheduled shifts.
• Needs a full range of motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and getting on and off industrial equipment and vehicles.
• Involves regular material handling using the hands, arms, and legs to move finished goods.
