Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Plant Manager to take charge of a cement manufacturing site in Ras Al Khaimah. This position carries end-to-end responsibility for plant performance, with a focus on safety, efficiency, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
The right candidate will bring deep exposure to cement manufacturing, proven leadership in heavy industry, and the ability to guide production, maintenance, quality, and sustainability activities while building a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and sustain a strong safety-first culture, ensuring the workplace remains safe and that all health, safety, environmental, and permit requirements are fully met.
- Organize, monitor, and direct day-to-day plant activities so production goals, quality expectations, and timelines are consistently achieved with strong efficiency.
- Use KPIs to define operating priorities and run daily coordination meetings to keep plant performance on track.
- Shape and implement a long-term plan for the facility, with clear targets around reliability, productivity, sustainability, and ongoing improvement.
- Lead, inspire, coach, and develop a capable team that is motivated, customer-oriented, and accountable for results.
- Manage maintenance and improvement of plant assets, including quarry reserves, to maximize equipment uptime and availability.
- Ensure all cement output meets required technical specifications and quality standards at all times.
- Drive change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen operations and encourage innovation.
- Act as the company’s representative with government bodies, local communities, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to support cooperation and positive relationships.
- Work in close coordination with the sales function to enhance customer relationships and service quality.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to support labour law compliance, healthy employee relations, coaching, delegation, and performance development.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Business Administration is required; an Engineering background is preferred and an MBA is an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of technical and managerial experience in cement manufacturing, including senior leadership experience in cement or another heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of pre-heater, pre-calciner, and dry-process cement production is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of cement manufacturing processes, cement chemistry, quarry operations, production practices, and maintenance management.
- Good familiarity with ISO standards and certification procedures.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
- Proven ability in financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to build confidence and work effectively across all organizational levels.
- Strong capabilities in leadership, coaching, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- A balance of strategic thinking and attention to operational detail is essential.
- High ethical standards, a strong sense of responsibility, and a clear commitment to operational excellence are important.
- Strong dedication to safety, environmental compliance, and sustainable manufacturing practices is required.
