A prominent maritime and logistics organisation in Qatar is hiring a Planning Engineer to help drive the delivery of marine and ship-repair projects. The position sits within a well-established shipyard environment and plays an important part in coordinating complex operational work.

What this role involves
Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Planning, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating marine project plans so that labour, schedules, and reporting stay aligned with operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Build baseline schedules for marine projects based on the scope of work, including task sequencing and activity durations.
- Prepare schedule plans for marine bid submissions.
- Plan manpower according to operational demand, track execution hours, and make sure work orders are completed within the planned timeline.
- Compile monthly management reports covering manpower forecasts, project completion status, cost tracking, and dock and jetty occupancy.
- Review daily project progress and raise concerns, delays, or risks to the Manager - Planning.
- Work closely with Production, Estimation, Procurement, and Central Stores to match manpower and materials with project requirements.
Candidate profile

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Between 4 and 6 years of relevant experience in ship-repair project planning and cost control.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Professional-level English communication; Arabic will be considered an advantage.
- Strong ability in time management, prioritisation, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication.
