About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Planning Engineer to become part of our Technical Support team in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. The chosen candidate will oversee the planning, scheduling, and regulation of maintenance operations to guarantee the plant's safe and efficient functioning. This role demands close collaboration with Maintenance and Operations personnel to enhance preventive and corrective maintenance while maximizing plant uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and track both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks using SAP.
- Examine maintenance notifications and work orders to ensure completeness, progress accuracy, and timely completion.
- Create and update preventive maintenance task lists, plans, and schedules.
- Manage planned shutdowns and annual outages with MS Project to optimize maintenance and reduce downtime.
- Analyze equipment failures and maintenance reports to suggest enhancements to preventive maintenance tactics.
- Coordinate routine maintenance and shutdown activities with maintenance and operations teams.
- Handle warranty defect notifications and manage warranty claim processes.
- Generate maintenance performance reports monthly, quarterly, yearly, and on an ad-hoc basis for management review.
- Maintain equipment master data, detailed maintenance history, and configuration data within SAP.
- Propose and apply continuous improvements to maintenance planning processes and protocols.
- Ensure efficient utilization of maintenance resources and improve planning effectiveness.
- Adhere to company policies, legal standards, contract terms, and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
- Participate actively in Health, Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality initiatives promoting a strong safety culture.
- Engage in hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigation, and execute corrective and preventive measures.
- Provide hands-on training and assist in the professional development of maintenance staff.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Master's degree is an added plus.
Experience
- At least 8 years of experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within power generation, utilities, or industrial plant settings.
- Proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and maintenance planning tools is mandatory.
Skills and Competencies
- Thorough knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance concepts.
- Practical experience operating SAP PM as an end user.
- Skilled in Microsoft Project, Office suite, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical thinking, planning aptitude, and organizational capabilities.
- Effective coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent English communication and reporting proficiency.
- Familiarity with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.
- Robust problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks in line with operational and business needs.
Working Conditions
- Position based at the plant, occasionally requiring work near active mechanical equipment and outdoors.
- Exposure to elevated areas, noise, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical equipment, and variable weather conditions is possible, following all safety protocols.
