Role overview
A commercial photography studio is seeking a part-time photographer to handle product shoots, with a strong focus on jewelry. The position is based in New York City at 630 9th Ave.
What you will do
- Run photo shoots from start to finish.
- Clean jewelry carefully before shooting.
- Prepare and position jewelry for photography.
- Set up lighting for studio shoots.
- Coordinate with teammates on post-production needs.
What the role involves
- Comfortably use a camera and understand key exposure and macro concepts such as f-stops, aperture, and ISO.
- Work with continuous studio lighting.
- Operate independently and take initiative without close supervision.
- Move and lift equipment and other items weighing up to 50 lbs, including studio lights, sandbags, and ballast.
- Stay on your feet throughout the day.
- Use a ladder and reposition studio items as needed.
- Be dependable, punctual, and fluent in English.
- Be available for 2 to 3 weekdays each week, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Compensation and benefits
Pay is hourly and depends on experience, with a range of $25 to $40 per hour. A company-sponsored 401(k) becomes available after 3 months.
