Key review duties
- Judge whether a manuscript contributes original ideas, findings, or insights to the field.
- Review whether the study design and methods are suitable, thorough, and described well enough to be replicated.
- Check that the paper includes relevant and current literature from the field.
- Assess whether the findings and conclusions are clearly presented, evidence-based, and meaningful to the discipline.
- Offer practical suggestions for improvement and identify any gaps, weaknesses, or ethical issues.
- Provide a recommendation for publication; the final decision remains with the journal editor, who may accept, request revisions, or reject the paper.
