Job description
Role overview
Join a fast-paced specialist private pharmacy where accuracy, adaptability, and patient care are central to everyday work. This position focuses on supporting the supply of cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMP) and working closely with specialist clinical pharmacists to help make these treatments more accessible to patients.
You will be part of a team that operates in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, calm decision-making, and a strong sense of responsibility are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Check and receive prescriptions so they are ready for clinical review.
- Handle patient data carefully and in line with required procedures.
- Assist the Responsible Pharmacist and pharmacy technicians with day-to-day pharmacy operations.
- Act as the main contact point for pharmacy enquiries.
- Keep accurate records connected to the supply of CBMP.
- Manage stock levels and maintain the security of CBMP stored on site.
- Support prescription communication with the Department of Health to satisfy regulatory obligations.
- Help uphold governance standards so the pharmacy remains as safe and compliant as possible.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant is a UK-qualified pharmacy dispenser with strong accuracy, patience, and the ability to stay composed under pressure. Previous experience in a pharmacy dispensary setting, either in primary care or secondary care, is preferred. Good communication skills and a professional, ethical approach to patient service are important, along with strong computer literacy and practical knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Training and development
Ideally, candidates will have completed a CPD-accredited educational programme on medical cannabis. If not, this training will be provided to the successful candidate.
