Position Overview
The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is hiring a permanent, full-time Cleaner for Marymount Academy. This role is scheduled for 6 hours per day, from 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Based in Northeastern Ontario, the board serves about 6,900 students across 17 schools in Greater Sudbury and Killarney. It brings together a diverse staff community focused on high-quality education and lifelong learning.
Role Summary
Working under the guidance of the Operations Assistant or a designate, the Cleaner will carry out a range of custodial tasks to maintain clean, safe, and healthy learning and working spaces in schools and buildings.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Candidates should have a secondary school diploma or an equivalent qualification. A working understanding of custodial methods and the equipment used for cleaning and grounds maintenance is also required. Prior experience of at least 1 year in institutional cleaning, or similar work, is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
The position calls for practical computer skills, including email use, along with strong oral and written communication in English. Applicants should be able to understand detailed instructions, pay close attention to detail, work independently with limited supervision, and contribute effectively in a team setting with a customer-service mindset. Professional, tactful interaction with others, regular attendance, and the ability to follow procedures are also important.
Physical Demands
This job involves frequent walking, reaching, bending or stooping while cleaning surfaces, and repeated pushing, pulling, and gripping of equipment and tools. The role requires lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and, in rare cases, up to 75 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay rate is $22.18 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
Pre-Employment Requirements
If selected, you must provide an acceptable Police Record Vulnerable Sector Check and proof of completion of the Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training before starting work. The training is available online.
