Job description
Role Overview
Solen Software Group is hiring a hands-on People Partner to help strengthen its people operations function. The company acquires and runs established software businesses with strong growth potential across several verticals, including Human Resource Technology, Fleet Telematics, Asset Management, E-Health, Document Management, and other software categories. Backed by experienced advisors and investors, the organization is focused on building long-term value across a decades-long journey.
This position suits someone who enjoys a startup-like environment, is comfortable creating structure where it does not yet exist, and can move fluidly between planning and day-to-day execution. The role will support people operations, benefits, payroll, and compliance across multiple entities and countries.
Location and Employment
This is a full-time role based in multiple possible locations: the United States, Canada, or Portugal.
What You Will Do
- Document, refine, and strengthen people processes, policies, and workflows across Solen and its portfolio companies.
- Handle onboarding, offboarding, employee status changes, and HRIS data administration for teams across different entities and locations.
- Administer employee benefits, including new hire enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and general employee support.
- Work closely with brokers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve benefits-related issues.
- Assist with payroll activities across the US, Canada, the UK, Portugal, Brazil, and additional locations as the business expands.
- Coordinate with payroll providers and EOR partners to help ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
- Support domestic and international compliance requirements related to employment, payroll, and benefits.
- Contribute to payroll reporting, reconciliations, and year-end administration.
- Prepare reports covering headcount, payroll, benefits, turnover, and other people analytics.
- Support people-operations aspects of acquisition integration work.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 3 years of progressive HR experience, ideally with exposure to payroll, benefits, HR operations, and global people support.
- Background in a fast-moving, high-growth environment such as a startup, private equity, software, or multi-entity business is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and build processes from the ground up.
- Experience using HRIS, payroll, or global payroll platforms such as Deel, Rippling, TriNet, Gusto, Paychex, or similar tools.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Excellent organization and project-management skills, with the flexibility to balance competing priorities.
- A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused working style.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
Compensation
The expected on-target earnings for this role are USD 80,000 to USD 100,000 per year. Final pay may vary based on market conditions, location, and job-related skills and experience.
Why Join
This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully in a company where the people function is still evolving. You will help design processes, improve systems, support employees across multiple countries, and shape how the People Operations team operates as the company scales.
