Role overview
As a Payroll Specialist / Payroll Clerk, you will take responsibility for payroll processing for a defined employee group and act as a point of contact for payroll-related matters. The position also includes broader HR administration tasks, involvement in month-end and year-end preparation, and support for HR projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly payroll independently for an assigned employee population while complying with legal, collective bargaining, and company regulations.
- Advise specialists and managers on questions related to payroll and compensation.
- Handle general HR administration tasks such as maintaining employee data, managing time records, issuing certificates, and similar administrative duties.
- Support the preparation of monthly and annual closing activities, and compile as well as review HR reports and key metrics.
- Contribute to HR initiatives and collaborate closely with colleagues across the team.
Requirements
- Completed commercial training, ideally as a payroll and HR specialist, tax clerk, or in a comparable field.
- Several years of experience in payroll processing and familiarity with the typical tasks of an HR department.
- Experience with DATEV is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, independent working style, and a friendly, open manner.
- Residence in Germany.
