Job description

Job Purpose

Apsco is seeking a proficient Payroll Specialist to oversee the complete payroll process, guaranteeing accurate and punctual salary disbursements while adhering to all relevant local regulations. This position is crucial for enhancing organizational effectiveness by protecting payroll data, addressing employee queries, and working in conjunction with the Human Capital Management (HCM) and Finance departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire payroll cycle, encompassing data gathering, precise calculations, deduction management, and processing to ensure salaries are paid accurately and on time.
  • Maintain strict adherence to payroll legislation and company policies through meticulous reporting and timely statutory submissions.
  • Address and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll and assist with the administrative processes for new hires and departing employees.
  • Uphold the integrity of payroll records, attendance, and leave information, ensuring the utmost confidentiality of all data.
  • Engage with internal departments to facilitate payroll audits, contribute to process enhancements, and support efficiency drives.
  • Undertake supplementary payroll-related duties as required to ensure seamless operational flow.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing or a comparable role within HR or Finance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in payroll computations, understanding of statutory mandates, and commitment to compliance.
  • Proficiency in utilizing payroll and HR software systems, alongside standard office productivity tools.
  • Exceptional capabilities in analysis, problem-solving, clear communication, and interpersonal interactions.
  • A proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
  • Possession of a professional certification in Payroll or HR would be considered an advantage.
