Job description
About the role
FMG is hiring a Payment Services Consultant to join its Payment Services team in Palmerston North. This role is suited to someone who enjoys customer service and wants to take on a new challenge in a fast-moving environment.
About FMG
FMG (Farmers Mutual Group) has supported rural New Zealand since 1905. More than a century later, it remains fully New Zealand owned and is the country’s leading rural insurance specialist. As a mutual, FMG returns profits to the business to help keep premiums competitive. The organisation also places strong emphasis on its people, aiming to create a workplace that encourages achievement and recognises success.
What the role involves
In this position, you will reach out to clients about their insurance premiums and work with them on payment arrangements that achieve the best outcome for both the client and the mutual.
What FMG is looking for
FMG wants someone who works well in a team, can take initiative, and is ready to get involved and complete the work. The ideal person will communicate clearly, stay organised, meet deadlines, manage their own workload, and maintain strong attention to detail. Because the environment is busy and the daily workload and queue move quickly, the role also requires someone who can handle multiple tasks at once.
Training and support
FMG will provide on-the-job training and support to help you succeed in the role.
Benefits
Joining FMG comes with a range of employee benefits, including free life insurance and income protection, a 4% company superannuation contribution, flexible working practices, five paid professional development days, two paid wellbeing days, annual salary reviews, and one paid give-back day each year.
Application deadline
Applications close at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.
