Role overview
This position is responsible for applying paste to grids so that battery plates are formed correctly and can retain charge. The job also involves handling raw materials, moving materials in and out of machines, checking product quality and quantity, and supporting safe, efficient production in a battery manufacturing setting.
Key duties
- Apply the correct paste to grids to produce plates that help batteries maintain charge.
- Feed raw materials into production equipment.
- Manually load and unload materials from machines.
- Support the operator by monitoring the performance of the pasting machine.
- Carry out visual checks for both quality and quantity.
- Record information in the data collector system.
- Use a forklift to transport materials.
Safety and work conditions
This role requires a strong commitment to safe work practices. The employee must wear all required personal protective equipment, including a respirator, and be prepared to work in a lead-acid battery manufacturing plant.
Basic qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Ability to work in a lead-acid battery manufacturing environment.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations, supported by a steady work history.
- Comfort with extreme temperatures and demanding physical conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to wear all required PPE, including a respirator.
- Must be clean-shaven.
- Willingness to follow strict hygiene rules, including mandatory showering and on-site lunch periods.
- Ability to lift 50 to 80 lbs and remain standing for extended periods.
- Good teamwork skills.
