Role overview
This position serves as the initial contact for enquiries about spare parts sales and technical interpretation across the CAPS Australia product range. It supports the local branch as well as the wider National Parts Group (NPG), helping ensure parts services are efficient, accurate, and centred on customer needs.
Customer service and sales support
- Handle the first line of contact for both internal teams and external customers needing spare parts details, quotations, and technical guidance.
- Interpret part requirements correctly and promptly across CAPS product lines.
- Manage customer enquiries and order processing with professionalism and strong attention to detail.
Branch collaboration
- Contribute to the Newcastle Branch by sharing parts and stores knowledge with colleagues.
- Support inventory activities, stock oversight, and dispatch tasks when needed.
- Take part in branch meetings and improvement initiatives that lift service quality and operational performance.
National Parts Group support
- Work with other NPG team members to exchange technical expertise, balance workload, and apply effective practices.
- Help improve procedures that strengthen the NPG’s capability and output.
- Assist with nationwide projects designed to improve parts interpretation and customer experience.
Working relationships
You will interact closely with branch staff in Sales, Service, and Stores, along with the National Parts Group team, the Branch Manager, the National Parts Group Manager, CAPS technical and engineering personnel, customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and freight and logistics partners.
Experience and capability requirements
- Background in parts interpretation or technical sales, ideally within industrial or mechanical environments.
- Solid understanding of mechanical components and systems.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to cooperate effectively in a team setting.
- Experience using inventory and ERP platforms such as Pronto or comparable systems.
- Careful attention to detail and strong troubleshooting ability.
