- Install, fix, and maintain irrigation lines and sprinkler systems for landscaped areas.
- Perform general grounds care such as edging, watering, and fertilizing lawns.
- Plant, care for, and maintain trees, shrubs, and other greenery.

What the Division Oversees
The Parks & Landscape Services Division is responsible for maintenance services across city parks and facilities under the Parks & Community Services Department. The division supports parks, trails, the golf course, sports fields, the senior center, skate parks, the equestrian center, community centers, landscaped parkways and medians, open space areas, and storm water basins.
Ideal Background
The strongest candidate will already understand basic landscaping practices, including planting, cultivation, pruning, soil preparation, weed and insect control, and irrigation system care. Comfort with standard landscaping tools, the ability to follow directions, physical stamina, sound judgment, and good interpersonal and written record-keeping skills are all important.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, plus one year of experience in gardening or landscape maintenance, or an equivalent blend of training and experience. Prior work with a city or government agency is considered a strong advantage.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed after the posting closes. Candidates who best match the required and preferred qualifications may move through multiple stages, which can include application screening, a self-recorded video appraisal interview, and a technical interview. The hiring process may be adjusted depending on department needs, and all candidates will be informed of any changes.
After the appraisal stage, Human Resources will create an eligible list. Candidates on that list may be referred for interviews for current or future openings.
Application Deadline
Applications are accepted until the first 100 submissions are received or until 5:00 p.m. PST on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, whichever happens first.
