The Foreclosure Paralegal I will oversee assigned portfolios and matters, partnering with attorneys and leadership to reduce client loss and legal exposure through careful, efficient handling of foreclosure processing.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal paperwork and support attorneys on foreclosure-related transactions.
- Check data entries against source records to maintain quality and accuracy.
- Examine and interpret legal materials such as recorded deeds of trust, property titles, dockets, and pleadings.
- Draft and send Notices of Acceleration, Applications for Foreclosure, Motions, and Orders.
- Submit required filings to the correct courts.
- Coordinate with court staff on case status, hearings, and issued orders.
- Work with opposing counsel and escalate issues to attorneys when necessary.
- Make sure notices and motions are completed and processed in line with client, investor, and regulatory rules.
- Raise legal processing concerns with internal and external stakeholders.
- Reply to questions from clients, debtors, attorneys, vendors, and internal teams.
- Keep client systems updated according to established work standards.
- Handle other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong written, spoken, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Well-developed organization and time management skills.
- Comfort managing several priorities in a fast-moving setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using systems such as BlackKnight and MSP.
- Mortgage servicing or legal background is preferred.
- Paralegal certification is preferred, though not mandatory.
