In this position, you will take ownership of the operational handling of export and import activities at RIMOWA. Your role will center on coordinating international shipments, improving logistics workflows, and ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and execute international logistics processes in line with all applicable customs and trade rules.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor global goods movements from order receipt through delivery to customers or RIMOWA’s worldwide hubs.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation such as freight documents, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, external warehouses, customs authorities, and other outside partners.
- Track shipments proactively and resolve supply chain issues independently when disruptions occur.
- Improve logistics processes with the aim of reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth shipping preparation and execution.
- Handle transport-related claims and damage cases.
- Produce reports and analyses to measure logistics performance.
- Support the rollout of new logistics projects.
What you need
- Completed training or education in international logistics, preferably a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in export/import, ideally within an internationally operating company.
- Strong knowledge of customs and trade regulations as well as the international logistics market, especially air and sea freight.
- Confident user of MS Office and quick to learn new systems and applications.
- Very good written and spoken German and English.
- Independent, well-organized, and solution-oriented working style.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- High resilience and flexibility.
