Core duties

  • Follow all company rules as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Watch stock conditions closely, flag inventory differences, and review products for freshness and quality.
  • Keep food at correct temperatures and maintain required temperature logs.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, productivity, and compliance procedures at all times.
  • Carry out recalls and product withdrawals quickly and make sure affected items are secured and removed from customer access.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, report safety concerns, and notify management about customer or employee accidents.
  • Report robbery, theft, fraud, and other illegal activity.
  • Follow wage and hour rules and help reinforce a strong safety culture in the store.
  • Ensure required safety training, hazard assessments, PPE use, and equipment condition standards are met.
  • Report and help address safety issues, including equipment lockout/tagout when required.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED. The role requires English proficiency, with Spanish listed as a preferred language. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, be authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain that authorization, and pass pre-employment drug screening and a background check. Working conditions and physical demands

This is a retail general heavy role with significant physical activity. The job involves standing or walking on different floor surfaces, using both hands and feet repetitively, talking, seeing, hearing, smelling, and carrying out repeated motions. Frequent reaching, lifting, pushing, and carrying are expected, along with occasional sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing up to 30 feet.

Work may take place indoors and outdoors, including cold, freezing, heated, and wet or humid environments. Safety risks can include twisting of the back or neck, slippery or cluttered floors, hazardous equipment, sharp objects, loud noise, dust, fumes, sprays, cleaning chemicals, and other irritants or toxins. Common equipment includes cleaning tools, office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, and material-handling tools such as racks, carts, pallet jacks, and shopping carts. Preferred tools include a baler/compactor and box cutter. Required protective gear includes goggles, gloves, and a back brace. The pulling requirement is 250 lbs, and the lifting requirement is 50 lbs.

Schedule and travel
