Job description
Role overview
This role provides both day-to-day and long-term leadership for patient catering services across Barts Health. The postholder will make sure the service operates in line with NHS standards, food hygiene legislation, and CQC expectations.
Key focus areas
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards across food safety, menu quality, allergen control, and nutritional compliance. A key part of the role is using digital platforms such as Synbiotix to track performance, manage stock, and support cost control.
The position also requires close attention to KPIs and SLAs, ensuring delivery remains aligned with the Trust’s WeCare values.
Team leadership
You will lead catering teams through strong supervision and active people management. This includes appraisals, staff development, training, and support to help teams perform consistently and improve service quality.
