Job description
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role in Dubai for an Operations Manager or Director at a technology hardware distribution company. The business works with brands such as Motorola and Cambium Networks and serves B2B resellers, WISPs, NGOs including the UN World Food Programme, and government customers across the region.
The company is a compact, close-knit team of around 15–20 people with a family-style culture. The successful hire will turn the CEO’s strategy into disciplined, measurable execution across the organisation, taking ownership of day-to-day operations and enabling the CEO to focus more on growth and strategic direction.
What You Will Do
You will act as the organisation’s execution lead, translating priorities into clear action plans and ensuring strong follow-through across departments. The role involves improving daily operations, guiding department heads, and making sure teams are aligned around shared goals and measurable outcomes.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Convert company strategy into practical execution plans and make sure they are delivered.
- Oversee operations across Customer Service, Technical, Marketing, Logistics, and Accounting functions.
- Build accountability through goal setting, KPI tracking, and regular review cycles in a constructive, coaching-focused manner.
- Spot inefficiencies, streamline workflows, and strengthen core systems such as CRM/ERP, internal communication, and reporting.
- Lead company-wide projects, including website improvements, onboarding new vendors, and process automation initiatives.
- Partner with HR on performance reviews, recruitment, training, and building a stronger ownership-driven culture.
- Serve as the link between the CEO’s strategic direction and the operational reality of the team.
Candidate Profile
The employer is looking for someone with at least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in operations or general management. Prior exposure to technology distribution, telecommunications, or a similar industry is preferred.
You should have experience managing several teams within a small or mid-sized business, and bring a highly structured, organised, and delivery-focused approach. The ideal person is equally comfortable working with systems and metrics as they are with people, and can lead in a way that is firm, supportive, and empathetic.
The role calls for a hands-on leader who is present in the office every day, leads by example, and is confident improving processes and performance using data and measurable outcomes. Applicants must already be living in the UAE and be legally authorised to work there.
What Success Will Look Like
- Department goals are clear, aligned, and consistently understood across the business.
- Operational efficiency and accountability improve in measurable ways.
- Projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- The CEO is able to focus on strategy and business growth rather than daily execution.
- The team becomes more motivated, high-performing, and unified.
Compensation and Benefits
The company offers a competitive salary along with a bonus structure tied to performance. This is an opportunity to shape and scale a growing business, enjoy real autonomy and influence, and work within a friendly, values-led environment. The role is positioned as a key support to the CEO and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the organisation’s direction and execution.
Application Notes
To apply, candidates were asked to send their CV by email with the subject line “Operations Manager – [Your Name]” and include a short example of one initiative they led that improved performance or efficiency in a previous role.
