Role overview
As an Operator, you will take charge of the day-to-day running of a ride or attraction, with a strong focus on the safety and comfort of both guests and colleagues. The role calls for long periods of concentration, the ability to multitask, supervision of small teams, and safe handling of large machinery.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out the correct startup and shutdown steps for rides and attractions.
- Manage queue flow and keep guest lines organized.
- Perform height checks accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and organize ride platforms for operation.
- Explain safety gear to guests, hand it out, and fit it where required.
- Support safe and efficient boarding and exit for all rides and attractions.
- Inspect restraints, safety belts, and ride equipment to confirm guest safety and comfort.
- Check safety items such as fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and escape routes.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers, and management.
- Use ride-stop and emergency-stop controls confidently when needed.
- Help create enjoyable and memorable guest experiences.
- Open and close rides and attractions for guest use.
- Follow all health and safety rules and procedures.
- Keep accurate daily records of operations, including downtime, throughput, and colleague breaks.
- Maintain ride paperwork so it stays current, neat, and correct.
- Lead ride shutdowns and respond to emergency situations when necessary.
- Keep the work area clean and safe at all times.
- Remain focused during long shifts and throughout both quiet and busy periods.
- Perform any other duties required to support business needs.
Requirements
- Strong customer service ability.
- Clear communication skills.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic personality with a genuine interest in guest interaction.
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Capability to work under pressure and during long shifts.
- Honest and ethical work behavior.
- Preferred qualification: higher secondary education or equivalent.
- Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
- Creative and flexible thinking for solving work-related challenges.
- For the operator training role: ability to manage small teams, stay focused without interruption for extended periods, operate machinery safely and efficiently, multitask, and oversee the safety of colleagues and guests at a ride or attraction.
Additional information
This position involves spending long periods standing and speaking while on duty. It also requires constant concentration across extended shifts in both busy and quiet park conditions. The role may include other tasks from time to time, depending on business requirements.
