Job description
About Tana
Tana is a fast-growing startup based in Nairobi, Kenya, that focuses on helping talented young people across Africa launch rewarding careers. The company prepares candidates for technology and data-related work, then places them into full-time remote roles with employers in North America and Europe. Its broader mission is to reshape how global work is accessed and distributed.
Role Overview
This opportunity is part of the Tana Fellowship Program for Business, Operations, and Sales Support. It is designed for recent graduates who are inquisitive, driven, and careful with details. Successful candidates join an international partner company in a full-time remote position, contributing to real business work from the outset while collaborating with teams across North America and Europe.
As part of the role, you will be given meaningful responsibility, along with training materials, playbooks, and mentorship to help you succeed. You will be expected to ask thoughtful questions, improve workflows, and learn quickly while delivering consistent results.
If your application advances, you will be added to the talent pool and considered for remote openings with partner companies.
These positions are non-technical. Applicants with a STEM background who are seeking technical or data-focused roles are directed toward the technical fellowship track instead.
Examples of Possible Placements
Accounts Payable Analyst: Handle company payments to vendors, keep financial records accurate, and support smooth and timely processing of outgoing expenses.
RevOps Analyst: Assist sales teams by using internal playbooks and calculation tools to prepare, check, and manage quotes throughout the sales cycle.
Order Management Analyst: Work in finance operations to review and process customer purchase orders and confirm they match approved quotes and internal records.
Marketing Analyst: Carry out structured online research, including use of professional networking tools, to assemble lead lists for webinars, events, and outreach campaigns.
Requirements
You must be a recent graduate whose bachelor’s degree or diploma was completed within the past two years.
Strong accuracy and a process-driven approach are essential; you should enjoy working with checklists, standard procedures, and fine details.
You need to be eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, and able to pick up new tools, concepts, and systems quickly.
A solid work ethic is important, including taking responsibility, managing time effectively, and following through on commitments.
You should show initiative, identify issues early, recommend improvements, and take ownership of outcomes without waiting for instructions.
Good written and spoken English communication skills are required.
You must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens currently located in Kenya and able to work remotely from within the country.
Working Arrangement
This is a remote position based in Kenya. Working hours depend on the client assignment: some placements follow 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EAT, while others may run as late as 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM EAT.
Contract Details
Successful candidates will be employed by Tana and then placed full-time with a client company.
Application Process
Candidates must complete the full application process, including several practical exercises, to remain under consideration.
