Job Summary
Onward Technologies is seeking a seasoned Offshore Structural Designer and Checker with extensive experience in Oil & Gas projects. This role involves both designing and verifying structural elements to ensure all engineering outputs adhere to project specifications, quality benchmarks, and the stringent requirements of the offshore industry. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews and checks of offshore structural design drawings and 3D models.
- Validate structural layouts, fabrication drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and connection details.
- Ensure design deliverables are accurate, feasible for construction, and compliant with project standards.
- Review detailed structural steel work and offshore fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate with designers and various engineering teams to resolve any design conflicts.
- Confirm adherence to offshore structural codes and client-specific requirements.
- Examine Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and associated engineering documentation.
- Participate actively in model reviews and cross-disciplinary coordination meetings.
- Provide support for offshore platform design tasks, including jackets, topsides, modules, and pipe racks.
- Guarantee the timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in Offshore Structural Design and Checking for Oil & Gas projects.
- Proficiency in structural steel detailing and verification processes.
- Practical experience with 3D modeling software such as E3D, S3D, and SP3D.
- Familiarity with offshore structural codes and standards including API, AISC, DNV, and ISO.
- Experience in reviewing both 2D drawings and 3D models for offshore facilities.
- Solid understanding of fabrication, erection, and installation techniques.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in executing EPC/FEED projects for offshore platforms.
- Exposure to international offshore projects and diverse client standards.
- Preference for candidates with experience in both brownfield and greenfield offshore projects.
