Key Duties
- Carry out cleaning tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule in apartments, shared spaces, lounges, and offices.
- Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors, rugs, carpets, runners, and stairways; also rotate hallway and entryway runners as needed.
- Clean, disinfect, and polish sinks, showers, lavatories, and related fixtures, and refill dispensers when required.
- Scrub tile, woodwork, window frames, and sills in bath and shower areas.
- Keep cleaning tools and supplies in organized, usable condition.
- Remove waste from work areas and take it to the designated collection points.
- Collect, clean, and return community laundry to the proper areas.
- Maintain the commercial laundry area in a clean, safe, and sanitary state.
- Store cleaning chemicals securely and ensure they are locked away when not in use.
- Keep cords, carts, tools, and other potential hazards clear of walkways and exits, in line with fire safety rules.
- Inform the Lead Housekeeper about repair needs, supply shortages, and equipment issues.
- Handle additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior housekeeping experience is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly in the primary language spoken by residents.
- Ability to read and understand safety instructions, operating procedures, maintenance guidance, and related documents.
- Genuine interest in working with older adults.
- Professional, courteous, and friendly interaction with guests, residents, and coworkers.
- Comfort with standing, walking, using hands and arms, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed, with occasional sitting.
- Capability to lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Good close vision and color vision are required for the role.
