Night Support Worker

HUGGARD is a leading homelessness charity in Wales, based in Cardiff, that supports adults who are rough sleeping or without stable housing. The organisation provides emergency accommodation, health care, and tailored, person-centred support for people in crisis. Operating around the clock, it offers a safe place to stay and immediate help while working with individuals to move away from homelessness, build stability, recover, and reconnect with the community.

Role summary

The Night Support Worker will be part of the overnight team across HUGGARD’s Complex Need hostels. The post involves welcoming and checking in clients, assessing those arriving overnight, maintaining a secure environment, and helping ensure that both emergency guests and long-term residents are comfortable and able to rest safely through the night.

Working pattern

This is a fixed-term full-time role running until April 2027. The post is for 38.5 hours each week and follows a 7-days-in-14 rota. Shifts are 11 hours long with a 1-hour break, including one weekend in every two. Working hours are from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am.
