Job description
Role overview
This role is for an experienced network engineer who will help keep enterprise network systems stable, secure, and high-performing. The position contributes to network design improvements and feature upgrades while also monitoring performance, coordinating maintenance, adjusting hardware, and resolving connectivity problems to support smooth day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of the operational health of the full network environment.
- Keep network infrastructure robust, secure, highly available, and performing well.
- Plan, deploy, support, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, and related services.
- Diagnose and fix issues affecting wired and wireless connectivity.
- Run routine tests to measure network performance and reliability.
- Configure, monitor, and manage QoS settings and traffic behavior.
- Create and maintain clear documentation and network diagrams for LANs, WANs, and other interconnections.
- Review core, distribution, and access-layer architecture to spot dependencies, risks, and single points of failure, then recommend improvements to resilience.
- Work with the security team to implement, observe, and maintain network security controls.
- Investigate incidents quickly and communicate escalations and outcomes clearly.
- Act early to identify and resolve issues before they affect service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or information systems.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, TCP/IP, QoS, and traffic shaping for both wired and wireless environments.
- 6 to 8 years of experience configuring and implementing multi-vendor network hardware.
- Practical experience with IPSec tunnels and SSL VPN setup and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to design wireless networks for performance and security.
- Experience using network monitoring and management platforms.
- Solid knowledge of STP, VPC, and VLAN design.
- Working understanding of cloud computing platforms and cloud networking concepts.
- Ability to produce detailed low-level and high-level design diagrams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven and comfortable working independently as well as within a collaborative team.
- Knowledge of firewalls and network operations across cloud and on-prem environments.
- CCNP or CCIE certification is preferred.
